make a flavorful and hearty Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry:

Ingredients:

For the Stir-Fry Sauce:

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon cornstarch

For the Stir-Fry:

1 pound (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, minced

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 medium carrot, julienned

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup snap peas, trimmed

1 cup sliced mushrooms

Green onions, sliced for garnish (optional)

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions:

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and cornstarch until well combined. Set the sauce aside.

Marinate the Beef:

Place the thinly sliced beef in a bowl. Pour about half of the stir-fry sauce over the beef and toss to coat. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

Heat the Wok or Skillet:

Heat a wok or a large skillet over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and swirl it around to coat the bottom.

Stir-Fry the Beef:

Add the marinated beef to the hot wok or skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add the minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, broccoli florets, snap peas, and sliced mushrooms to the wok. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Combine Beef and Vegetables:

Return the cooked beef to the wok and pour the remaining stir-fry sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through and thicken the sauce.

Serve:

Serve your beef and vegetable stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Enjoy your homemade Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry! It's a quick and flavorful meal that's perfect for busy weeknight dinners.
